Punjab is facing one of the worst floods in decades, causing widespread damage and loss. To help, IPL team Punjab Kings (PBKS) has donated ₹33.8 lakh for relief efforts. The floods were caused by heavy rains and rising rivers, including the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi, worsened by dam releases from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. So far, the disaster has claimed at least 37 lives.
Official reports say that more than 3.5 lakh people have been affected by the floods in Punjab. Over 1,000 villages are underwater, and nearly 61,000 hectares of farmland have been submerged. All 23 districts in the state are now declared flood-affected, marking one of the worst floods since 1988. So far, more than 11,000 people have been evacuated with help from the Indian Army, NDRF, BSF, and local authorities.
PBKS Ensures Contributions Reach Those Suffering from Floods

Meanwhile, PBKS started its “Together for Punjab” campaign. Working with Hemkunt Foundation and Round Table India, the team pledged ₹33.8 lakh to support ongoing flood relief efforts. The money will be used to buy inflatable rescue boats, which will also remain available as permanent disaster-response tools for any future emergencies in the state.
“We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by floods in our state. We are teaming up with Hemkunt Foundation and RTI to support those affected. Our contributions will help flood victims and aid recovery efforts across Punjab,” said a PBKS official.
The team said the money will be used to provide clean drinking water, essential supplies, and medical help to those affected by the floods. PBKS is also helping set up a system to better manage such emergencies in Punjab in the future.
In addition to this direct support, Punjab Kings has started a fundraising campaign on Ketto, aiming to raise ₹2 crore. The funds raised will go to The Global Sikh Charity, which has been working to help flood-affected communities and support rebuilding efforts in Punjab.
